Who we are and whom we serve
The Union Ombudsman gives people and organisations an accessible route to challenge maladministration. It serves those passed between desks, denied an explanation, excluded by an inaccessible process or left without a receiving owner. It can investigate service practice independently of the institution complained about.

What our teams do
The Ombudsman records the service need, original request, administrative response and practical harm. It asks for the reasoned finding and source record, distinguishes a failure of process from a contested legal question, and publishes recommendations and institutional replies. Essential continuity is examined alongside the completeness of paperwork.
Our decision powers and limits
The office does not replace Union Court of Justice judicial review or guarantee the applicant's preferred substantive outcome. It can identify a competent remedy route and a systemic service failure. Complaints can be represented by an authorised advocate, with a protected channel where the ordinary operator is part of the alleged problem.
