STA / PUBLIC SERVICE NETWORK
Maintains common reference systems so institutions and equipment can work together.
Standards, Time and Measurement is the independent foundation for comparable evidence and interoperable systems. It serves laboratories, public operators, manufacturers, statistical offices and everyone relying on a certificate or timestamp. A standard is useful only when its scope, reference method and limits are clear.

Directorates cover metrology, clock conventions, interoperability, safety standards, accreditation and public statistics. A certificate identifies what was measured or tested, against which reference and under what conditions. Time records distinguish local receipt, effective event and later reconciliation; a statistical release includes method and revision history.
The Authority does not approve a product for every use or turn a laboratory scope into an unlimited operating licence. Sector agencies own deployment decisions. Sparse-community data receives an appropriate disclosure review, and competing technical evidence has an independent reproduction route.
A remote workshop proposes a locally fabricated replacement part. The laboratory records its calibration chain and tested scope; the receiving operator checks the relevant engineering acceptance through Infrastructure & Public Works Commission. A measurement certificate supports that decision but does not silently authorise every installation.
Metrology brings together mass and length references, laboratory calibration and measurement traceability.
