Apply for an open science grant

A transparent funding decision with reproducibility and access obligations.

SCIcommissionUnion-wide competence

What this procedure decides

Compete for a public research grant with assessable methods and independent stewardship.

The panel declares conflicts, assesses method and feasibility, checks independent protection or ethical interfaces and records funding reasons. A grant is not a field-access permit.

Acting in the right capacity

Research and civic organisations

Laboratories, universities, observatories, associations, cultural organisations and public-interest networks. Name the accountable organisation, research or civic purpose, relevant ethics or protection review and the custodian who can authorise source access.

Public administrations

Local councils, regional offices, Union bodies and authorised public-service delegates. Name the originating power, receiving scope, authorised delegate, reserved decisions and the event at which the other office accepts a duty.

Prepare assessable evidence

  1. Research proposal

Identify the source custodian, version and purpose of research proposal. Research question, competence and data plan show what can be learned and preserved. Public value includes null results, replication and accessible evidence.

  2. Peer-review information

For peer-review information, name the receiving scope and any outstanding acceptance. Explain a missing or disputed element instead of silently replacing it with an unrelated record.

  3. Data and access plan

For data and access plan, provide the independently assessable finding or agreed alternative. State its conditions, expiry or material-change trigger; a favourable summary is not a substitute for the source.

Alternative evidence and a disputed source

Identify the missing element, its custodian and the alternative you can provide. Preserve conflicting versions and explain the difference. The receiving office states what it can establish and which question remains open.

Read the result before accepting its scope

Award, conditional award, reserve assessment or rejection with reasons and review.

Project changes, evidence releases, milestones and successor custody remain attached to the award. Sponsor preference cannot suppress the agreed scientific record.

Who can use this service

An accountable research team, university, laboratory or eligible public-interest organisation proposing work within the published scientific programme. Evaluation retains method, conflicts and public stewardship.

The applicable safeguard

Null results and uncertainty belong in the public scientific record

Prepare a request

The online workflow supports residents and authorized representatives, operators, researchers and public delegates. A saved receipt stays on this browser. The PDF packet provides a fillable offline record.

Timing, costs and review

The local register issues a receipt when the request is recorded. Published service clocks use receipt and verified-completeness events; numeric deadlines remain charter decisions in this fictional edition.

Any fee, exemption or numeric deadline must be published by the competent institution. This edition does not invent a currency or fee schedule.
